Legal Counsel

Job description

Our mission

We believe the financial system has been slowing the world down. Its barriers to entry are unfairly limiting coverage and limiting the kinds of products we could be building. The stakes are high. Well-being is driven by innovation, and innovation is facilitated by financial participation. With 2bn unbanked worldwide there is still a long way to go. The role of traditional banks is changing. They are becoming liquidity utilities, leaving an opportunity for tech businesses like Intergiro to service fast changing customer needs.

We are building a banking one-stop-shop for businesses, card issuing and merchant acquiring all on one platform and we are an e-money institution authorised by the Swedish FSA to issue e-money and provide payment services.

We have recently raised new funding for the business and now seek a new Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team and help guide the business into the next phase, as we transition from start-up to growth.

About the role

As our Legal Counsel you will be joining our in-house legal team in Stockholm, Sweden, which currently consists of our Head of Legal and a Junior Legal Counsel. You will have a varied legal and corporate skill set, including a business and financial acumen. You are proficient in legal research and have hands-on experience in commercial law, including drafting and analyzing commercial contracts, and data protection legislation.

This is a broad role where you should be able to handle complex legal work with limited supervision, and have a willingness to take on new areas of law with support from our Head of Legal. As Intergiro is on a quest to change the payment services industry, you will need to have an enthusiasm for business development, be curious and adaptive to an ever developing environment. This is a challenging but hugely rewarding role, where you will work both independently, together with the legal team and in cross-functional team projects identifying and managing legal aspects and innovation. We offer flexible working conditions and you will have the autonomy to work from our centrally located Stockholm office or from home most of the time.
